Rohit Bal, a renowned Indian fashion designer, passed away on Friday at a hospital in South Delhi due to a heart attack, according to Sunil Sethi, president of the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI). He was 63 years old.
Bal had been hospitalized in December of the previous year in the ICU of a private facility in Gurugram for heart-related issues. Most recently, he showcased his collection at the grand finale of the Lakme Fashion Week X FDCI 2024 in October.
“It is true that he has died. He experienced a cardiac arrest… heart failure. Rohit was a legend, and we are deeply shocked by his passing. We are currently making arrangements for his cremation tomorrow,” Sethi stated.
Bal had been receiving treatment at Aashlok Hospital in Safdarjung Enclave under the care of Dr. Alok Chopra. Sethi conveyed that despite the doctors’ efforts to revive him for two hours, they were unsuccessful, leaving them heartbroken.
