Palghar: A significant fire broke out at two chemical factories located in the Boisar-Tarapur MIDC area of Palghar district, Maharashtra, according to officials. The incident occurred at the UK Aromatic and Chemicals factory on Navapur Road in Salwad Shivaji Nagar around 5:20 p.m. and quickly spread to the nearby Shree Chemicals facility.
Firefighters responded swiftly, deploying multiple fire engines and water tankers, and after nearly five hours of effort, they managed to bring the fire under control. Fortunately, all workers evacuated the premises in time, preventing a major disaster. As of now, there are no reports of injuries, and the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Earlier on the same day, a separate fire broke out on a hill slope in Goregaon, Mumbai, shortly after midnight, affecting dry vegetation over a 1.5-km area. This fire was contained by 2:35 a.m. without any injuries reported. Additionally, another smaller fire occurred at the Heera Panna Shopping Centre in Mumbai around 9:09 a.m., which was limited to two closed shops, with no injuries reported in that incident either. Firefighting operations were conducted swiftly in all cases.
