Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh): At midnight on Monday, a significant fire erupted at an oil and chemical factory near the Muradnagar Canal bridge along the Delhi-Meerut Road. The Modinagar Fire Station Control Room received the alert, prompting 12 fire tenders to respond swiftly to the scene. Upon arrival, they discovered that the fire had originated in an industrial unit occupying about 2000 square meters on plot number 87-A in the Pawanpuri Industrial Area near Yusufpur-Manota village.

The fire rapidly escalated as drums of edible oil and other chemicals ignited, causing explosions that resulted in the collapse of tin shed roofs and boundary walls. The flames then spread to an adjacent cardboard factory located on plot number 87-B, which also covered approximately 2000 square meters.

To combat the blaze, fire service units promptly established a water supply by laying hosepipes from the main entrance. Rahul Kumar, the Chief Fire Officer and Police Commissioner of Ghaziabad, coordinated the response by dispatching three fire tenders from Kotwali, two each from Sahibabad and Vaishali, and one from Loni, Partapur (Meerut), and Sector 58 (Gautam Buddha Nagar) fire stations. He also arrived at the scene himself shortly after.

The precise cause of the fire remains undetermined, although there were no reported injuries. Throughout the firefighting and rescue efforts, members from the Fire and Emergency Services Department, along with the Assistant Commissioner of Police in Modinagar and local police, were present to support the fire service. Currently, cooling operations continue with the assistance of 12 firefighters.
