Dehradun, May 5: A flood-like situation has arisen in Uttarakhand due to the rains that have been pouring in for the last two days. Rivers have turned violent in many places across the state.
People faced problems due to rising water levels of rivers in different parts of the state, including Mussoorie, Dehradun, and Rishikesh.
At the same time, many vehicles got stuck on the highway due to a landslide in the Shivpuri area of Rishikesh. With great difficulty, the vehicles were taken out one by one.
Thankfully, nothing untoward happened during the landslide. The Mussoorie highway also remained closed for hours due to debris.
Similarly, the water level of Song river in MalDevta of Dehradun suddenly increased. On Sunday, a large number of people had gone here for picnic.
Due to which many people got stuck on the island in the middle of the river. Seeing the fierce form of water, there was an atmosphere of panic among the people around. The people stuck on the island in the middle of the river also got scared.
The Song River enters the Mall Devta area of Dehradun from the Tehri district. Due to heavy rains in the mountains, the water level in this river suddenly rises.
Due to this, many disasters have occurred in the Maldevata area in the past. The rain on Sunday created similar conditions once again. People trapped on the island were rescued with great difficulty after the water receded.
On the other hand, the Dehradun-Mussoorie road remained blocked due to debris after heavy rains. Traffic remained blocked on the Kapti road and Kimari road also due to debris.
Due to heavy rain, the Kempty Falls in Mussoorie also took a terrifying form. Water and stones started flowing from the waterfall into the lake below. Due to which the people present there appeared scared.
Seeing the fierce form of Kempty Falls waterfall, the local people and tourists present there also got frightened. Water was seen flowing at a fast speed from the waterfall.
