Founder of Ramoji Film City, Media Baron Ramoji Rao passes away at 87, PM Modi expresses grief

Ramoji Rao was considered as a big personality in the media world. He was the founder and owner of Ramoji Film City and ETV network. In the year 2016, he was also awarded the Padma Vibhushan.

New Delhi: In tragic news coming from the Telugu film industry, Ramoji Rao, chairman of Ramoji Group of Companies, passed away today at the age of 87. He took his last brath in a hospital in Hyderabad this morning. He was ill for a long time and was admitted to the hospital.

Ramoji Rao was considered as a big personality in the media world. He was the founder and owner of Ramoji Film City and ETV network. In the year 2016, he was also awarded the Padma Vibhushan.

After the news of demise, many eminet personalities from all over have expressed condolences and tributes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to X and paid tributes to Ramoji Rao.

While sharing a picture of him along with Rao, PM said that news of his demise is extremely saddening. He also added that rich contribution of Rao have left an indelible mark on journalism and the film industries.
