Ganga water level rises in Haridwar, vehicles seen floating in water

Monsoon has become almost fully active across the country except for some states. Due to heavy rains in Uttarakhand, 8 cars were washed away due to sudden rise in the water level of river Ganga on Saturday.

On the other hand, Delhi received 9 inches of rain in 24 hours on June 28, which is the second highest rainfall after 9.27 inches of rain in a day in June 1936. This has completed the quota of not only June but also 4 months from March till now.

So far 8 people have died in different incidents due to rain in Delhi. Yesterday 5 people lost their lives. On Friday night, 3 workers fell into the pit of an under construction building. The pit was filled with water due to rain. The bodies of all three workers were taken out this morning.

IMD has issued a heavy rain alert in 27 states on Saturday (June 29). These include Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Goa, Maharashtra, Punjab, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Gujarat, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karnataka.
