Garwal motors Bus falls into gorge near Uttarakhand’s Pauri-Almora border, 20 dead

Search and rescue operation was launched as soon as information was received. 

Ramnagar: In a shocking incident, a passenger buss fell into gorge near Kupi in Ramnagar at Pauri-Almora border. The incident occurred around 8 am on Monday in which nearly 22 people have died while 20 are injured. In total there were 42 passengers in the bus and death toll is likely to increase said the police.

Today morning Garwal Motors Users’ bus fell into a gorge near Kupi. Search and rescue operation was launched as soon as information was received.

The bus that fell into gorge was going from Kinnath to Ramnagar. Most of the people were locals. The bus went out of control near Kupi which later overturned and fell into a 200 mt-deep ditch. The bus was badly damaged in the accident.

Meanwhile, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami directed to suspend the ARTO enforcement of the concerned area of ​​​​Pauri and Almora. The Chief Minister Dhami has announced ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh each to kin of deceased whereas Rs 1 Lakh to each injured in the accident.

The Chief Minister directed the Commissioner Kumaon Division to conduct a magisterial inquiry into the incident. Along with SDRF, NDRF team has also reached the spot and Rescue and relief work has been started.
