Chandigarh : After the Lok Sabha election results in Haryana, there is a big question in the minds of the people that which BJP MP can be made a minister at the Center after the formation of the NDA government.

In 2019, two MPs from Haryana were ministers in the central government.

These included Gurugram MP Rao Indrajit Singh and Faridabad MP Krishanpal Gurjar. Both have won this time too. But the race to become a minister for both the newly elected MPs is not going to be so easy. Apart from Rao, Gurjar, former CM Manohar Lal and Dharambir Singh are also in the race to become a Union Minister. However, when two MPs from Haryana were made ministers, during that time BJP alone was in majority. There was no pressure from the alliance parties.

This time the situation has changed. NDA government is going to be formed at the Center. BJP will also be under pressure to make members of the constituent parties of the NDA as ministers. On the other hand, assembly elections are going to be held in Haryana after four months. In such a situation, it is possible that this time instead of two, only one MP may be given the ministerial post at the center.

Let’s take a look at those MPs who are in the race to become ministers. What are the factors in their favor and against.

Manohar Lal

Manohar Lal has been the CM of Haryana for nine and a half years. He is very close to the Sangh, PM Narendra Modi and Shah. He left the CM’s chair at the behest of PM Modi. However, during his tenure as CM, an anti-incumbency wave was created against the BJP in the state. Elections are to be held in the state after four months. The BJP would not want that because of him, resentment against the party increases again in the state. In such a situation, it is possible that the top leadership of the BJP may refrain from making him a minister at the center for the time being.

Rao Indrajit

Rao Indrajit has become an MP for the sixth time. He dominates the Ahirwal belt. His role in making Dharambir win in the Ahirwal belt of Bhiwani-Mahendragarh has been very important. There are 14 assembly constituencies in the Ahirwal belt. This belt plays an important role in forming the state government. In view of the assembly elections, Rao Indrajit can be included in the Union Cabinet. But this time his dominance has diminished somewhat. He has won with difficulty. He has got fewer votes in his ancestral constituency.

Krishanpal Gurjar

Krishanpal Gurjar, who has won three consecutive elections, has been a minister in the central government in 2014 and 2019. He has a good friendship with PM Modi. He has also worked with Modi in the organization. This time he had a lot of opposition, despite this he managed to win his seat. In such a situation, this time too he is in the race to become a minister. However, considering the caste and regional equations in the assembly elections, it may be difficult for him to become a minister.

Dharambir Singh

Dharambir Singh, who scored a hat-trick of victories, is also in the race to become a minister. He is the only BJP MP from the Jat community in Haryana. The resentment of the Jat community against the BJP was clearly seen in the Lok Sabha elections. The BJP has not got a single seat in the Jat belt. BJP does not want to face the displeasure of Jats in the upcoming assembly elections. Therefore, Dharambir can be made a minister at the center to connect Jats with BJP.
