Jaipur: The weather forecast for Rajasthan indicates that the state will experience hot and humid conditions in the coming days, with a persistent heat wave in western Rajasthan and thunderstorms expected in the eastern regions. In western Rajasthan, especially near Jaisalmer, Phalodi, Bikaner, and Ganganagar, temperatures are projected to be between 44°C and 47°C over the next three days, with the possibility of crossing 48°C at some locations. A red alert has been issued by the Meteorological Centre in Jaipur for the next three days, particularly for the border areas of western Rajasthan, due to the intense heat.
There is also a risk of strong storms in parts of Bikaner and Jodhpur divisions later this afternoon, with wind speeds of 50 to 60 km/h. In eastern Rajasthan, thunderstorms are anticipated, especially in the Shekhawati region and parts of Bharatpur. Some areas in southern Rajasthan have already experienced light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorms over the past 24 hours. The activity is expected to increase, with potential for severe thunderstorms and dust storms.
The maximum temperature in eastern Rajasthan is expected to stay below 45°C, while western Rajasthan will continue to see higher temperatures ranging from 44°C to 47°C. Night temperatures in western Rajasthan will remain warm, between 32°C and 34°C. Due to the severe heatwave, a red alert remains in effect for western Rajasthan’s border areas, urging residents to take precautions and stay hydrated. The likelihood of thunderstorms and dust storms, particularly in Shekhawati and some parts of Bharatpur, is also increasing, prompting the Meteorological Centre to maintain the red alert for the coming days.
