Heavy rain alert issued for Eastern Rajasthan

Jaipur (Rajasthan): The Meteorological Centre in Jaipur has issued an orange alert warning residents of eastern Rajasthan about heavy rainfall expected over the next 24 hours, urging preparedness for intense weather conditions. Radheshyam Sharma, director of the weather center, explained that a cyclonic circulation over western Uttar Pradesh is causing moderate to heavy rains across.

Jaipur (Rajasthan): The Meteorological Centre in Jaipur has issued an orange alert warning residents of eastern Rajasthan about heavy rainfall expected over the next 24 hours, urging preparedness for intense weather conditions. Radheshyam Sharma, director of the weather center, explained that a cyclonic circulation over western Uttar Pradesh is causing moderate to heavy rains across the region.

Sharma stated that several districts have reported rainfall amounts reaching up to 190 millimeters, with areas such as Tonk and Dholpur also experiencing significant precipitation. The weather system, which brings thunder and heavy rain, is predicted to persist for the next two to three days. Specifically, districts including Baran, Kota, Bundi, and Jhalawar are under an orange alert for the coming day, as more than 200 mm of rainfall could occur in these areas within 24 hours.

The Kota division, particularly the districts of Baran, Kota, Bundi, and Jhalawar, has been warned to expect intense rainfall. Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rain is forecasted to continue in the Jaipur, Udaipur, and Bharatpur divisions. Residents in these districts are advised to remain cautious and take necessary precautions during this period, which is expected to last through June 24 and 25.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) also predicts the southwest monsoon will advance into regions including Delhi, Chandigarh, Haryana, western Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Jammu & Kashmir within the next two days, with favorable conditions for further progress. Additionally, heavy rainfall is expected to persist in Northeast India for the next three days.

Furthermore, a ‘yellow’ alert has been issued for Delhi-NCR, indicating the possibility of light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30-40 km/h. Nearby areas such as Gurugram and Faridabad are also under the same alert.
