New Delhi: With tensions rising between India and Pakistan, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has postponed the remaining exams of the Chartered Accountants Final, Intermediate, and Post Qualification Course. The exams, originally scheduled from May 9 to 14, have been deferred due to the tense security situation across the country.

ICAI issued a statement stating that, as a “partial modification” of its earlier announcement, the exams from May 9 to 14 are postponed, and new dates will be announced later. Candidates are advised to regularly check the institute’s official website for updates.

Meanwhile, security has been stepped up outside Shri Guru Ram Das Ji International Airport in Amritsar, where all activities have been suspended until further notice. ACP Yadwinder Singh confirmed increased security measures, including restricted access and ongoing patrols. Residents have been advised to follow safety protocols, including staying indoors, turning off lights, and drawing curtains, as a precaution.

Additionally, the Indian Army conducted a large-scale operation along the Line of Control (LoC) and international borders, shooting down over 50 Pakistani drones. The District Public Relations Officer (DPRO) in Amritsar urged residents to remain indoors, avoid windows, and stay calm, emphasizing there is no cause for panic and reassuring them that a siren will alert citizens when the situation is safe.

India earlier responded to the Pahalgam terror attack with Operation Sindoor, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and PoJK with precision strikes. The government reaffirmed that any attack on military installations would be met with appropriate retaliation.
