IMD Predictions: Srinagar records hottest day in last 80 years while heavy rain Bihar, Assam

Officials said that on April 15, the temperature in different areas of Kashmir Valley was 8.1 to 11.2 degrees above normal.

The Meteorological Department has predicted thunderstorms and rain in 25 states of the country on Wednesday. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Bihar, Assam and Odisha. Hailstorms may also occur in Jharkhand, Odisha and Meghalaya.

The Meteorological Department said that April 15 was the hottest day in Srinagar in the last 80 years. The city’s temperature was recorded at 30.4 degrees Celsius, 10.2 degrees above normal. The average temperature for this time of the season is 20.2 degrees Celsius.

Earlier, the highest temperature of 31.1 degrees was recorded in the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir on April 20, 1946. Officials said that on April 15, the temperature in different areas of Kashmir Valley was 8.1 to 11.2 degrees above normal.

At the same time, Barmer in Rajasthan remained the hottest in the country for the second consecutive day. The temperature of the district was recorded at 45.5 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has predicted an increase in temperature in the next three to four days.

The Meteorological Department said on Tuesday that this time the monsoon will be better than normal. Rainfall between 104 to 110 percent is considered better than normal. This is a good sign for crops.

This year, there may be 105% or 87 cm of rain between June and September. The Long Period Average (LPA) for a 4-month monsoon season is 868.6 mm or 86.86 cm. That is, there should be this much rain in the monsoon season.

The monsoon arrives every year around June 1 via Kerala. After 4 months of rain, i.e. at the end of September, the monsoon returns via Rajasthan. It reaches many states between June 15 and 25.
