Jaipur: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rain and hailstorms across approximately 15 districts in Rajasthan today.
A Western Disturbance is expected to impact the Bikaner division later this evening, bringing light rain, according to weather officials. The districts likely to experience rain and hail include Bikaner, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Nagaur, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Alwar, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Dausa, Dholpur, Karauli, Sawai Madhopur, Tonk, and Ajmer.
Bikaner, Ganganagar, and Hanumangarh will see cloudy skies. The effects of the Western Disturbance are anticipated to extend into Saturday, affecting the Jaipur, Bikaner, Ajmer, and Bharatpur divisions.
After a clear sky over the past 24 hours, which provided some relief from the winter chill, dense fog is expected to return starting January 12, complicating weather conditions. Additionally, a new weather system may become active in the state around January 15-16, potentially bringing cloud cover to parts of eastern Rajasthan.
On Thursday, Barmer recorded the highest maximum temperature at 29.2 degrees Celsius, while ten cities, including Sikar, Churu, Nagaur, Baran, Hanumangarh, Jalore, and Sirohi, reported temperatures below 5 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature in Phalodi and Jaisalmer was around 10 degrees Celsius.
An orange alert has been issued for six districts, warning residents of possible adverse weather conditions. The maximum temperatures recorded on Thursday included 28.3 degrees Celsius in Jodhpur, 27.9 in Jaisalmer, 27.2 in Phalodi, and 26 in Bikaner. Fatehpur, which experienced a frigid low of 1.1 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, saw a slight increase to 3.3 degrees Celsius, providing some relief.
