Once again, news of the death of an Indian student in Canada has come. An Indian student studying at the University of Calgary in Canada has died. The Consulate General of India in Vancouver gave this information on Thursday.

The consulate said it was “saddened by the sudden death” of Indian student Tanya Tyagi. It said that the consulate is in touch with authorities and will provide all necessary assistance to the bereaved family. It was not immediately clear how and under what circumstances the Indian student died.

The consulate has expressed its condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. The consulate wrote in a post on X that we are saddened by the sudden death of Tanya Tyagi, an Indian student at the University of Calgary. The consulate is in touch with authorities and will provide all necessary assistance to the bereaved family. Our condolences and prayers are with the bereaved family.
Authorities have not yet released further details about the cause or circumstances of Tanya’s death. However, a user named Ishu Tyagi posted on X, tagging the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) of India, seeking help and claiming that Tanya died of a heart attack.
He wrote that Tanya Tyagi, a student from northeast Delhi, residing at 559/11D, Lane No. 12, Vijay Park, had gone to Canada for studies. She died of a heart attack on June 17, 2025. The student’s family has appealed to Prime Minister Modi for help in bringing back the body.

The body of Indian student Vanshika, who was missing for 4 days, has been recovered under suspicious circumstances. Vanshika was a resident of Dera Bassi in the Indian state of Punjab. Vanshika went missing on April 25 when she went out to look for a room. Her mobile was also switched off and she had also missed an important exam. Vanshika’s body was found on the beach under suspicious circumstances.
