Indian youth congress members detained during NEET-UG paper leak protest near parliament

Around 20 students were detained at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Wednesday during a protest regarding alleged irregularities in the administration of NEET-UG, the national medical entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

New Delhi: Around 20 students were detained at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Wednesday during a protest regarding alleged irregularities in the administration of NEET-UG, the national medical entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Representatives from student groups such as Bhagat Singh Chhatra Ekta Manch (BsCEM), All India Students Association (Aisa), Krantikari Yuva Sangathan, Disha, and the Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) gathered at Jantar Mantar around 2 pm for a protest meeting.

They called for the abolition of NTA and the resignation of Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan. Additionally, they demanded that all NEET-UG candidates be given the opportunity to retake the exam and advocated for centralized examinations under the Union Ministry of Education.

During the protest, students held placards with slogans criticizing the Indian education system and alleging corruption in exams. They also chanted slogans asserting their rights as students, accompanied by drum beats.

NSUI workers have entered NTA office in protest against NEET paper leak. The workers locked the gate of NTA while raising slogans.

Earlier, lathicharge was done on the workers of Indian Youth Congress who reached to gherao Parliament. Police is trying to stop the workers involved in the protest by putting up barricades.

Youth Congress President Srinivasan, who was protesting, has said that Modi had said that he will not let the country get looted and the work of looting is going on in the whole country. When will NEET re-examination be held in the country and when will justice be served.

At the same time, CBI is investigating in 6 states including Bihar, Jharkhand and Gujarat in the NEET paper leak case. The connection of NEET paper leak has come to light from Hazaribagh in Jharkhand. At the same time, CBI has also started investigation in Godhra, Gujarat.

CBI suspects that the people arrested by the police so far are mere contractors while the mastermind behind the paper leak is someone else. According to CBI, the arrests made so far may be connected to each other.

Earlier on June 26, CBI had detained Oasis School Principal Ehsan Ul Haq and courier staff after questioning them. They can be brought to Patna on Thursday. At the same time, CBI has recovered the packing box of question paper, cut locks, question paper packet and CCTV footage from Oasis School in Hazaribagh.

In Gujarat, CBI has registered a case against unknown people for cheating and conspiracy. Gujarat Police has arrested 5 accused including the school principal and teacher in the case.
