New Delhi: Controversy over NEET exam is increasing. The opposition parties are also constantly accusing it of rigging.
Now, Rajya Sabha member and senior advocate Kapil Sibal has demanded a Supreme Court-supervised inquiry into the allegations of irregularities in the examination.
He also said that the government should discuss with all the states how to conduct this exam in future.
In an interview to news agency PTI, Sibal said that it is not right for the Prime Minister to remain silent if the testing system is corrupted in an exam.
Sibal appealed to all political parties to raise this issue strongly in the upcoming session of Parliament. However, he does not expect much discussion on it. They believe that the government will not allow this citing that the matter is under consideration in the court.
NTA should respond
Kapil Sibal said that the current National Testing Agency (NTA) is truly a mess and has exposed corruption on media platforms, such as giving advance answers to question papers to become doctors. “Some of the incidents in Gujarat have shocked me and it is a matter of great national concern. I think NTA should answer some of these serious questions,” he said.
Sibal said that what is even more surprising and disappointing is that whenever something like this happens and corruption is exposed under the current government, the ‘blind followers’ are therefore UPA. start holding them responsible. The most unfortunate thing is that they are not fully educated before making such statements.
