A fire broke out Wednesday morning at the Royal World complex on Sansar Chandra Road. Devendra Meena, Fire Officer from Nagar Nigam Heritage, reported that the blaze affected the fourth and fifth floors of the five-storey building.

Meena explained that the fire was triggered by a short circuit and that rescue teams were promptly dispatched upon notification. Each floor of the complex contains around 10 offices. Thankfully, the fire occurred during the day when no personnel were present, which significantly eased the emergency response. “Had it happened at night, managing the situation would have been much more challenging,” he added. The complex has also received prior safety notices.

Following the incident, authorities closed roads from Government Hostel to Chandpole, and electricity in the vicinity was turned off as a precaution. Firefighters are currently working to extinguish the flames, with further updates anticipated as the situation develops.
