Jaipur: Jaipur police for the first time, filed a case against gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his associates.

Along with Lawrence, the suspects Anmol Bishnoi, Rohit Godara, Amarjit Singh, and Singh’s wife Sudha Kanwar have been charged under section 111 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The police also detained three individuals accused of smuggling gold for Lawrence’s gang.

Jaipur (West) Deputy Commissioner of Police Amit Kumar stated that an FIR has been registered against the gang, with the Kardhani police station SHO Sawai Singh filing the case at Jhotwara police station in Jaipur.

The three arrested gang members are Suraj, Imran, and Bhavani, who are involved in gold smuggling and have longstanding links to Lawrence’s gang. They are also believed to have been involved in multiple other criminal activities. The case investigation has been assigned to SI Vimlesh Kumar at Chitrakoot police station.

Kumar explained that during the investigation of a murder case registered at Kardhani police station, police received information about accused Jai Singh. It was discovered that Suraj and his associates had helped Jai Singh escape. When police reached the scene, they detained four suspects, who confessed to their gang affiliations.

Further investigation revealed that the accused smuggled gold into India using hawala money, sold the gold at various locations, and acquired illegal properties. Kumar mentioned that the three suspects will be taken on remand for thorough interrogation.
