New Delhi : Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has said that after winning the Lok Sabha elections 2024, the I.N.D.I.A block will decide the candidate for the post of Prime Minister within 48 hours. Ramesh also said that the party which gets the most seats in the alliance will be the natural contender to form the government.
In an interview given to news agency PTI on the last day of election campaign before the 7th phase of voting, the Congress General Secretary claimed that the Indi alliance will get more seats than the figure of 272 required for a majority in the Lok Sabha.
He said that if the INDIA Block government is formed, then the NDA allies can also join the alliance, however, whether to include them or not, it will be decided by the Congress high command.
Nitish Kumar is an expert in doing U-turns
Jairam was asked whether the doors will be open for NDA allies like JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu after the elections. To this, he said- Nitish Kumar is an expert in doing U-turns. Naidu was in alliance with Congress in 2019. Ramesh said that there is a difference of two I between India and NDA – I for humanity and I for honesty.
The government to be formed after getting the mandate from the people will not be a dictator’s government, but a government of the people.
Modi is going to meditate on life after retirement
Ramesh said that the interesting thing is that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to Vivekananda Rock Memorial and will meditate for two days. The same Vivekananda Memorial from where Rahul Gandhi started the Bharat Jodo Yatra on 7 September 2022. I am sure Modi will focus on what life will be like after retirement.
We will repeat the history of 2004 – Ramesh
When asked about the ground reality after six phases of voting, Ramesh said, “I do not want to go into numbers, but I am simply saying that the INDIA alliance will get a clear and decisive majority. 273 is a clear majority, but it is not decisive. When I say clear and decisive, I mean much more than 272 seats.”
Ramesh also claimed that when the Congress won the 2004 election to form a coalition government despite the BJP’s India Shining campaign, the same history will be repeated in 2024.
What did he say about the states where seat sharing is…
Ramesh also claimed that the Congress will gain a lead in Rajasthan, Karnataka, Telangana and Maharashtra. It will improve the current situation in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Assam. Congress will also gain a lead in Uttar Pradesh, while the BJP will not be able to do better than 62 seats of 2019. BJP cannot win more than 39 seats in Bihar and 18 seats in West Bengal. This is impossible now.
