Ajodhya: Keiichi Ono, the Japanese ambassador to India and Bhutan, visited Ayodhya to offer prayers at the historic Ram Janmabhoomi temple on Saturday. Following his visit, the diplomat shared on X that he experienced the rich cultural and spiritual importance of the Shri Hanuman Garhi and Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temples, expressing his respectful greetings for the warm reception received.
Highlighting the significance of the visit, the Uttar Pradesh government emphasized that Ayodhya continues to symbolize India’s spiritual and cultural essence. They remarked that the ambassador’s visit underlines Uttar Pradesh’s rising global recognition as a center of spirituality and culture.
Earlier, on Friday evening, the ambassador had a productive meeting with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at the Chief Minister’s residence in Lucknow. During their discussion, both leaders agreed to strengthen cooperation between Japan and Uttar Pradesh in areas like investment, technology, human resources development, and tourism. Ono expressed optimism about future collaboration, likening it to a Daruma doll, where the left eye will be painted once the partnership is fulfilled.
India and Japan’s relationship is deepening across multiple domains—security, economic development, and people-to-people exchanges—driven by shared values and economic opportunities. The two nations share a ‘Special Strategic and Global Partnership,’ built on long-standing cultural, civilizational, and spiritual bonds. Japan has remained a key partner in India’s economic growth, with Japanese FDI exceeding $43 billion from 2000 to 2024, making it India’s fifth-largest foreign investor.
