Jharkhand Floor test: Trust vote to begin soon, Former CM Hemant Soren reaches Assembly

A special court in Ranchi allowed JMM working President Hemant Soren to participate in the trust vote.

 Ranchi: Arrested Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader and former state Chief Minister Hemant Soren reached the Assembly here on Monday to participate in the floor test of the Champai Soren led government.

 The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had arrested Hemant Soren on January 31 in a money laundering case related to the alleged land scam. On February 2, the court had sent him to five-day custody of the Enforcement Directorate

JMM and Congress MLAs way back to Assembly for floor Test

Hemant Soren had filed a petition before the special PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) court. In this petition, Hemant had sought permission to participate in the trust vote of the new government led by Champai Soren.

 Soren argued before the court that he was a member of the Assembly and had the right to participate in the special session.

 JMM legislature party leader Champai Soren took oath as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand on February 2 after the arrest of Hemant Soren.
