Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir administration has terminated three government employees over their connections to terrorist activities. This action was ordered by Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, affecting a police constable, Firdous Ahmad Bhat; a teacher, Mohammad Ashraf Bhat; and Nisar Ahmad Khan, an orderly in the Forest Department.
These individuals are currently incarcerated for their roles in actions considered harmful to the state’s security. The administration has invoked Article 311(2)(c) of the Indian Constitution, permitting the dismissal of government employees without inquiry in matters of national security.
Firdous Ahmad Bhat, arrested for ties to local terrorist groups, reportedly provided logistical aid to these outfits. Teacher Muhammad Ashraf Bhat is accused of radicalizing students and maintaining relationships with banned organizations. Meanwhile, Nisar Ahmad Khan allegedly assisted terrorists in navigating forest areas of the Valley.
In alignment with directives from Union Home Minister Amit Shah, security forces are intensifying efforts against terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. The central government is committed to dismantling the support network for terrorism, leading to the dismissal of employees who act as supporters, harborers, or Over-Ground Workers (OGWs) for terrorists.
To bolster anti-terror operations, the Union government has recently sent two additional Army battalions to the region. Intelligence reports suggest that the increase in terrorist activities is orchestrated by handlers based in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), spurred by the frustration over the successful conduct of peaceful Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
