Kolkata: The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha on Wednesday took out a protest against the TMC-led West Bengal government over the alleged gangrape incident at South Calcutta Law College in Kolkata.
The state assembly’s Leader of Opposition, Suvendu Adhikari also joined the protest, claiming that there is a “conspiracy” by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the state police to close the gangrape case as soon as possible, and that ‘real justice’ will only be served when BJP is elected in the state.
“Look at the people present here, the sisters have come with a broom in their hands. There is rage in the whole of Bengal. Nobody was allowed to enter, but the Yuva Morcha went to the High Court and took permission today and entered Kasba. All the conspiracy of Mamata Banerjee with the Police has finished, nothing will happen in this case. The police have captured the family,” Adhikari told ANI.
Adhikari said that ‘real justice’ will be served when the BJP comes into power and reopens all the cases they feel were wrongly closed.
“The real justice will be given when the BJP is in government, eight months later. The BJP government will do whatever it should by reopening all the cases in the town. We are Modi’s soldiers,” he added.
Earlier today, BJP Leader Nisith Pramanik said that the West Bengal Chief Minister is playing the role of a “mute spectator,” while atrocities against women are being carried out.
“This is not the first incident by a TMC leader in the state… Everyone knows what atrocities are done to women in the TMC office and how Mamata Banerjee plays the role of a mute spectator… Bengal’s law and order have completely collapsed… Bengal police is trying to mislead the incident like the previous (RG Kar rape case)… Mamata Banerjee should tell till when women will get raped in the state and till when TMC will carry out atrocities on the people,” Pramanik said.
Notably, the Alipore Court has sent the three main accused in the alleged gangrape case, including the fourth accused, the security guard, to police custody.
The three accused, Monojit, Pramit, and Zaib, are sent to custody till July 8, while the security guard, Pinaki, will be in custody till July 4.
