New Delhi: The way to start an app-based premium bus service in Delhi has been cleared. After the approval of LG VK Saxena, the Delhi Government issued a notification for Premium bus service. This App based premium bus service is one of the Ambitious plans of CM Kejriwal. As per the notification, the bus service will be Intra Delhi only.
Under this scheme, people can book their seats in premium buses through an app and can avail of modern facilities such as Air conditioning, Wi-fi, GPS, and CCTV cameras. There would be the facility of a panic button too in the bus. Seating capacity of these buses will be no less than 9 passengers.
In this bus service, dynamic pricing is allowed which means that the license holder can increase or decrease the fare as per his choice on the condition that the fare has to be displayed on the application so that the passengers are aware of the changes made. Also, the fare of these premium buses can not be less than the maximum fare of DTC so that there is no DTC /cluster competition. Payments of the tickets can be made digitally only.
For the convenience of the passengers, only advance booking is allowed and physical tickets will not be given to the passengers. Also, the journey cannot be cancelled except in circumstances beyond control.
