LS Security Breach: Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and 32 other MPs Suspended from the House

New Delhi: Following the ruckus and sloganeering in the Lok Sabha over Security Breach Incident on December 13, Lok Sabha Speaker suspended 33 members of parliament today. So far, the toll of suspended MPs from opposition have surpassed 40. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury who is also leader of Congress in the house was suspended along with other 32 members.

Following his suspension, Chowdhury said “All leaders, including me, have been suspended. We have been demanding for days to reinstate our MPs who were suspended earlier and that the Home Minister come to the House and give a statement. He gives statements to the TV every day and he can speak a little in the Parliament too regarding what is being done by the Government for the security of the Parliament…Today’s Government has reached the heights of tyranny…We wanted discussion…”

It should be noted that opposition members have been demanding statement from Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the security lapse in Lok Sabha. On December 13, two young men trespassed into the House from visitors gallery. The two men also used a yellow colour smoke flare in the house. Similar incident was also reported outside the parliament. Taking big action, Police has so far arrested 6 accused in the security lapse incident.
