Maha Kumbh: Uttarakhand CM Dhami takes holy dip in Triveni Sangam

Prayagraj: On Monday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, accompanied by his family, participated in a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam during the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Prayagraj: On Monday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, accompanied by his family, participated in a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam during the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

This significant religious festival, which began on January 13, is set to continue until February 26 and has already attracted millions of devotees from both India and abroad.

Dhami arrived in Prayagraj on Sunday and visited the Uttarakhand Mandapam, where provisions have been made for devotees from his state. He expressed his thoughts on X, stating, “I have full faith that this Ganga of UCC flowing from Uttarakhand will open new doors of equality, development, and social justice in the entire country in the coming times. This step will also prove to be important in achieving the resolution of ‘Viksit Bharat.'”

Additionally, he participated in the ‘Sammanta ke Saath Samrasata’ program, where he addressed guests from various states and received blessings from esteemed sants and gurus. Dhami emphasized, “With the blessings of revered sants and god-like people and the inspiration of respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttarakhand has become the first state in the country to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC).”

Later today, President Droupadi Murmu is also expected to visit the Maha Kumbh, with enhanced security measures in place. Prime Minister Narendra Modi previously attended the event, taking a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam on February 5.

On Sunday, Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang and Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar also took part in the holy dip, expressing gratitude to the Uttar Pradesh government for their hospitality and commending the arrangements. Tamang praised the event’s organizers for fostering peace and unity, encouraging everyone to experience the Maha Kumbh at least once in their lifetime, while Shivakumar acknowledged the extensive preparations made.

Several other political leaders have visited the Maha Kumbh, including Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini, and Haryana BJP chief Mohan Lal Badoli, who all took a holy dip at the Sangam and praised the government’s efforts. Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari also attended, along with Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, who performed rituals at the Sangam on Saturday with his family.

The Triveni Sangam, the sacred confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers, holds great spiritual importance for Hindus. The Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj continues to uphold its legacy as one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, drawing millions of pilgrims from around the globe.
