Gurugram: On January 6, Gurugram police arrested a 22-year-old man, Arjun Shavtal, from Cachar district in Assam, for allegedly murdering his colleague over a minor disagreement in Sector 52.
The victim, Dilip, 26, originally from Bihar, worked as a housekeeper at the Hello Stay Guest House. Authorities were alerted about the incident on Saturday, finding that Dilip had already been taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Dilip’s brother informed the police that Arjun, also employed at the guest house, had stabbed Dilip during a confrontation. Following this report, a murder case was registered, and police utilized crime scene techniques to collect evidence.
Authorities apprehended Arjun in the nearby Sector 53 area the following day. During questioning, he revealed that ongoing tensions arose from Dilip’s perceived lack of effort at work, leading to threats and verbal exchanges. The altercation on Saturday escalated, resulting in Arjun using a kitchen knife to fatally stab Dilip. Police recovered the weapon at the crime scene, according to spokesperson Sandeep Kumar.
