New Delhi: A 42-year-old man in Delhi has killed his colleague after he refused to give him a loan and dumped his body in a tank.
Reports reaching to The Savera Times said that the accused has been identified as Chandra Prakash (47), worked as a driver at a private farmhouse in Chhattarpur. He allegedly asked the victim, named Sita Ram a domestic worker at the same property to lend him ₹10,000.
When Sita Ram declined, a heated argument led Prakash to strike him on the head with a hammer, according to police statements. In a gruesome effort to conceal the crime, he dumped the body into a septic tank on the premises.
Authorities received a missing person complaint for Sita Ram on July 26 from the Mehrauli Police Station. The farmhouse’s staff reported that the main entrance doors were left open and the worker had not returned, prompting them to alert the police.
A search led to discovery of the body submerged in the onsite septic tank.
Following forensic investigation and evidence gathering, Chandra Prakash was tracked to Palam, southwest Delhi, and arrested. During interrogation, he reportedly confessed to the murder, admitting that the request for ₹10,000 had been turned down, and in rage he killed Sita Ram and disposed of his body in the tank. Investigators recovered the murder weapon from the scene.
A formal FIR has been registered under Sections 103(1) (murder) and 238(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Mehrauli Police Station.
