The Indian embassy has advised all nationals in Iran to remain vigilant, avoid unnecessary travel, follow the embassy’s social media updates, and adhere to safety protocols issued by local authorities.
Amid escalating developments, including Israel’s recent pre-emptive strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, India has expressed serious concern over the situation, urging both Iran and Israel to exercise restraint. The MEA has emphasized the importance of dialogue and diplomacy to de-escalate tensions and stated that India stands ready to provide support to both countries. The Indian missions in Iran and Israel are in contact with the Indian communities there, urging citizens to stay cautious and follow security advisories.
The conflict has intensified after Israel launched strikes on Iran, which prompted Iran to retaliate with drone and missile attacks on Tel Aviv. Israel’s Defence Forces stated that Iran is nearing the capability to develop a nuclear weapon and described the Iranian regime’s possession of such weapons as an existential threat, justifying their strikes.
