Speaking to reporters, Yadav explained that he had been away celebrating Holi with friends, while his family remained at home. Yadav mentioned that his son, who had injuries to his head, informed him that his mother and uncle were also hurt.

Yadav suggested they visit the police station, where they were told to return home, with assurances that the authorities would later come to assess the situation. Upon returning home, Yadav said that when ASI Singh arrived, they discovered the grave situation, and the authorities had already taken Singh to the hospital.

Meanwhile, two individuals have been arrested in connection with the murder of ASI Santosh Kumar Singh, who was attacked by assailants in Munger. Bihar Police Association President Mrityunjay Kumar Singh condemned the attack and demanded compensation and a job for Singh’s family. He described the incident as tragic, stating that ASI Singh had been called to Nandlapur village to resolve a dispute. While trying to mediate, Singh was attacked and later succumbed to his injuries at Patna Paras Hospital.

Mrityunjay Singh further highlighted concerns regarding the rising violence against police personnel, referencing a similar attack in Araria during an arrest operation.

According to Munger Superintendent of Police (SP) Syed Imran Masood, ASI Santosh Kumar Singh was killed while responding to a disturbance caused by the family of Ranveer Kumar in Nandalpur village under Mufassil police station jurisdiction. The attackers were reportedly intoxicated at the time. SP Masood explained that ASI Singh was struck on the head during the incident, leaving him critically injured. Despite being rushed to Sadar Hospital and then referred to a Patna hospital, Singh succumbed to his injuries.

The police are continuing efforts to apprehend the family members responsible for the attack, who are currently on the run, and a manhunt has been launched to capture them. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack is ongoing.
