NEET UG 2024 Apex Hearing: Scorecards of 1563 candidates cancelled, retest on June 23

As per the NTA, the retest will be held on June 23 and results will be declared before June 23.

New Delhi: In a major update, the Centre Government/National Testing Agency has told the Supreme Court that as per the decision of the committee formed, the scorecards of 1,563 NEET-UG 2024 candidates will be canceled. A total of 1563 candidates received grace marks and now a retest will be conducted. As per the NTA, the retest will be held on June 23 and results will be declared before June 23.

Supreme Court takes into record the statement of NTA that a re-test of 1563 students will be notified today itself and it would likely be held on June 23 and results would be declared prior to June 30 so that counselling which is set to begin in July is not affected

Today (13 June) the Supreme Court is hearing 3 petitions challenging the NEET-UG 2024 result.

These petitions were filed after the result was declared on 4 June in which total 67 students received perfect score of 720. The petitions demand that the allegations of irregularities in the examination be investigated by the SIT-Expert Committee. Also, the counseling being done on the basis of the result of June 4 should be stopped. The NEET exam held on 5 May should be canceled and the exam should be conducted again. NTA has given grace marks to 1563 students, which has been questioned.

While hearing of the matter, Supreme Court once again reiterated that counselling will not stop. It said, “Counselling will go on and we will not stop it. If the exam goes then everything goes in totality so nothing to fear.”
