This adjustment aligns toll rates with inflation based on the wholesale price index, with the additional revenue aimed at supporting the maintenance and expansion of highway infrastructure, according to a senior official.

As per the NHAI notification, the one-way toll for cars and jeeps on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway will rise from Rs 165 to Rs 170 for trips from Sarai Kale Khan to Meerut, and from Rs 70 to Rs 75 for journeys from Ghaziabad to Meerut.

Light commercial vehicles and buses will now incur a toll of Rs 275 for the same trip, while trucks will be charged Rs 580. Additionally, at the Chhijarsi toll plaza on NH-9, car tolls will increase from Rs 170 to Rs 175, with light commercial vehicles set to pay Rs 280, and buses and trucks charged Rs 590.

Motorists on highways around Lucknow, including routes connecting the state capital to Kanpur, Ayodhya, Raebareli, and Barabanki, will face toll increases of Rs 5 to 10 per trip for light vehicles, while heavy vehicles will see an additional charge of Rs 20 to 25.

The monthly pass for cars will rise from Rs 930 to Rs 950, and the pass for cabs will increase from Rs 1,225 to Rs 1,255. Single-trip tolls for light motor vehicles and minibuses will go up from Rs 120 to Rs 125.

On the Delhi-Jaipur Highway at the Kherki Daula toll plaza, toll rates for private cars and jeeps will remain unchanged, while larger vehicles will face a Rs 5 increase per trip. The monthly pass for cars will also increase from Rs 930 to Rs 950, and for commercial vehicles, it will rise from Rs 1,225 to Rs 1,255. Additionally, single-trip tolls for light motor vehicles and minibuses will see an increase from Rs 120 to Rs 125.

Across India’s national highway network, there are approximately 855 toll plazas, with around 675 being government-funded and the rest managed by private operators.
