Jaipur: A bomb threat was received at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Monday. According to Additional SP Lalit Sharma, the threat was sent via email to the official email address of the Rajasthan Sports Council.

Authorities responded quickly, evacuating the stadium immediately. The Bomb Disposal Squad, along with the Dog Squad, is now investigating the incident.

Sharma stated, “The email was sent to the Sports Council’s official email ID. Following this, the stadium was evacuated. The Bomb Disposal Squad, aided by the Dog Squad, is conducting an investigation.”

This is not the first threat at this venue. Last week, amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, the stadium was evacuated after a similar bomb threat was received and prompted by the Rajasthan Sports Council president.

After the threat, all staff and spectators inside the stadium were evacuated, and a heavy police contingent was deployed on-site. Law enforcement and investigative agencies are thoroughly probing the matter.

Neeraj A Pawan, president of the Rajasthan State Sports Council, confirmed that the bomb threat came via email and was forwarded to the police commissioner. The bomb disposal team arrived promptly, and the stadium was completely evacuated for safety.

He added, “We received the threat through email, which was then sent to the police. The bomb squad and frisking teams are here, and the investigation is ongoing.”

Previously, on April 7, a similar warning was issued regarding a bomb at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens during the IPL 2025 match between KKR and CSK. The Cricket Association of Bengal received an anonymous email threat, and authorities confirmed that they are investigating and have taken all necessary precautions.
