“Panchayat elections in Uttarakhand to be held in two phases on July 10 and 15”: State Election Commissioner

Uttarakhand: State Election Commissioner, Uttarakhand, Sushil Kumar, announced that the Panchayat elections for 2025 in the state will be conducted in two phases across 12 districts, excluding Haridwar. The first phase is scheduled for July 10, followed by the second phase on July 15. Kumar mentioned that, apart from Haridwar, notifications for the three-tier Panchayat.

Uttarakhand: State Election Commissioner, Uttarakhand, Sushil Kumar, announced that the Panchayat elections for 2025 in the state will be conducted in two phases across 12 districts, excluding Haridwar. The first phase is scheduled for July 10, followed by the second phase on July 15. Kumar mentioned that, apart from Haridwar, notifications for the three-tier Panchayat elections have been issued for the other districts, and vote counting is planned for July 19, with results to be announced afterward.

Nominations for the elections will be accepted from June 25 to June 28, and the Model Code of Conduct is now in effect across Uttarakhand. Kumar further explained that district officers will release the official notifications on June 23, marking the start of the nomination process, which will end on June 28. The elections will be carried out in two phases, with voting scheduled for July 10 and July 15, respectively, and the poll results will be declared after counting.

Earlier, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in a Yoga Sangam event celebrating the International Day of Yoga 2025 at the Gairsain Assembly Complex in Gairsain, the state’s summer capital. The event was attended by ambassadors and diplomats from Nepal, Mexico, Latvia, Fiji, Suriname, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, and Russia, who served as special guests.

Addressing the gathering, CM Dhami expressed his happiness at the presence of international delegates, emphasizing that their participation enhances the global recognition of the event. He highlighted the widespread enthusiasm around the world for Yoga Day 2025 and shared that yoga sessions were conducted in the presence of Swami Bharat Bhushan and the visiting delegates. Dhami stated that this participation demonstrates the expanding horizons of Yoga and Ayurveda, opening new opportunities for Uttarakhand on the global stage.
