Nagpur: Patanjali Ayurveda Ltd. is set to revolutionize the agricultural industry with the launch of its mega food and herbal park at Mihan, Nagpur. The new facility, which will house Asia’s largest orange processing plant, was announced by Acharya Balkrishna, the managing Director of Patanjali Ayurveda, at a press conference on Friday. This plant inaugurates today.
According to Balkrishna, the plant is a single point food processing hub with a daily processing capacity of 800 tonnes. It is expected to boost prosperity for local farmers, as the plant operates a zero waste system, utilising orange peel to extract volatile and frangrance oils, among other products. The plant will also process juices and pulp from a variety of fruits and vegetables, including lime, amla, guava, grapes, mango and carrots.
Despite facing challenges, including the Covid-19 pandemic, the plant’s establishment marks a significant milestone for the region. Balkrishna expressed pride in the achievement, emphasizing that the plant will priotize local employment and aim to make nearby farmers prosperous. The plant was inaugurated today in presence of Nitin Gadkari and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
In addition to its focus on local prosperity, Patanjali plans to produce export quality produstc for the global market. With the support of the local community and its emphasis on high quality products, the Mihan facility is poised to play a key role in Patanjali’s agricultural revolution.
He called for collective support to ensure the success of this venture and pledged Patanjali’s commitment to improving the livelihoods of farmers and the overall agricultural sector.
He assured that the plant is equipped with cutting-edge technology, including automated packaging lines, Technopack machinery, and advanced research labs to ensure the highest quality standards.
