New Delhi: BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar has criticized the AAP’s governance, claiming that over the past decade, the administration has achieved little besides setting “new records in corruption” and practicing “mal-governance.” He accused Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of making deceptive promises and expressed strong confidence in the BJP’s success in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.

Chandrasekhar stated, “There is a clear understanding among voters that the last 10 years under Arvind Kejriwal were wasted. The trust and mandate given to him have not led to any significant achievements, only records of corruption and mismanagement. Voters recognize which party can bring true development and transformation in their lives, and which leader makes mere empty promises. I firmly believe that people desire change, and there will be a shift on February 5.”

With the Delhi Assembly elections approaching, Congress, BJP, and AAP are intensifying their campaigns, launching attacks on one another regarding issues such as scams, pollution in the Yamuna River, rising inflation, and incomplete infrastructure projects.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sharply criticized AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, stating that the “AAP-da” (disastrous) government has harmed Delhi over the past ten years. He assured voters that if the BJP takes power, no slums will be demolished, nor will any welfare programs be halted, urging the public not to give the AAP another chance, which he claimed would only lead to another five years of wasted opportunities.

Kejriwal had previously alleged on January 12 that slums in Delhi would be “demolished” in the next five years if the BJP won. PM Modi countered, emphasizing his commitment to supporting the Purvanchal community, not just in Delhi but also in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

Moreover, Kejriwal accused the BJP of “harassing” his party workers ahead of the elections. However, the Election Commission of India stated that it could not find any documented complaints regarding these allegations from the former Delhi Chief Minister.

Meanwhile, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi critiqued the BJP, noting that the recent Union Budget failed to address rising inflation. She also pointed out the controversies surrounding Kejriwal related to the now-cancelled Delhi excise policy, cautioning, “Kejriwal claimed to be honest while accusing others of being thieves. Now he finds himself entangled in the liquor scam.”

The Delhi Assembly elections are set for February 5, with vote counting scheduled for February 8.
