Amritsar : Union Minister and senior BJP leader Piyush Goyal, who reached Amritsar to meet BJP leaders, has attacked the state government. He had come to support BJP candidate Taranjit Singh Sandhu.
He has alleged that the schemes of the Central Government do not reach the people of the state. Prime Minister’s schemes are implemented without discrimination. Last year, PM Mitra Textile Park Scheme was implemented, but due to lack of state government, Punjab could not get this park.
Piyush Goyal told that 1000 acres of space was required for PM Mitra Textile Park. All the states were asked for proposals. 18 proposals were received, but the Punjab government did not send the complete application. The proposal mentioning 1000 acres of land was not even sent. This park was also given to Tamil Nadu and Telangana, which have anti-BJP governments.
Every state was given a fair opportunity by the Centre. Transparent marking was done. The entire system was put on the website. Complete information about what the state government and the Center will provide was shared. It is sad to say that Punjab has lost such opportunities again and again.
Request to farmers – Serious issues can be resolved through dialogue
Piyush Goyal said that some farmers who are not fully aware of the seriousness of the issue may also get wrong information. The Central Government will never bring such a proposal which will harm the farmers of Punjab. Farmers still insist that the solution to their problems is possible only through dialogue. Farmers should sit at one table and negotiate with the government.
Congress never thought about the interest of Punjab
Piyush Goyal said that Congress has always betrayed Punjab since independence. After independence, Punjab was divided into two parts. After that Congress attacked Sri Harmandir Sahib. Congress party could never think of the welfare of Punjab. Rahul Gandhi should apologize for this and Punjab should answer for this.
