New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his best wishes to Keir Starmer for a remarkable victory in the UK General elections. He also shared a message for the outgoing Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. Soon after the polling end, counting of the votes started in which the Labour Party of UK secured the majority mark within short time.
Extending congratulations to the to be Prime Minister of UK, Keir Starmer Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoped that India UK partnership will foster in all areas. In a post on X, he said, “Heartiest congratulations and best wishes to @Keir_Starmer on the remarkable victory in the UK general elections. I look forward to our positive and constructive collaboration to further strengthen the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in all areas, fostering mutual growth and prosperity.”
As of now, the Labour Party of UK won 412 seats out of 650, crossing the majority mark of 326 very easily. The Conservative Party of UK confined at 111 seats.
Writing for Rishi Sunak, who has his roots in India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked Rishi Sunak for his admirable leadership of the UK. He also thanked for active contribution in deepening ties between India and UK.
