Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday to congratulate him for leading the BJP to a remarkable hat-trick victory in the recent Assembly elections. In a post shared on X, Modi expressed confidence that Haryana will play a pivotal role in India’s development.
Following their meeting, CM Saini credited the BJP’s success to PM Modi’s decade-long leadership, highlighting the various policies and schemes that benefitted diverse sections of society, including the poor, farmers, youth, and women. “This victory reflects the people’s affection for PM Modi and the effectiveness of his policies,” said Saini, while also thanking the people of Haryana and the party workers for their contributions.
The BJP secured 48 out of 90 seats in the Haryana Assembly, marking its third consecutive term in power, while the Congress party managed to win 37 seats.
In a separate address to party workers in Delhi, PM Modi responded to criticism from the Congress party regarding the slow pace of election result updates in Haryana. He accused Congress of attempting to undermine the credibility of various institutions, including the Election Commission, by making baseless complaints. Modi remarked, “Congress consistently tries to tarnish the reputation of our institutions and mislead the public,” recalling similar allegations made by the party during previous elections.
