PM Modi to attend the 59th DGP-IGP conference today, Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated it yesterday

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the DGP-IGP conference starting on Saturday in Bhubaneswar. He reached Bhubaneswar yesterday evening. Today he will visit the Lok Seva Bhavan Convention Center in Bhubaneswar.

Earlier, Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the conference yesterday, i.e. on November 29. Amit Shah gave trophies to the 3 best police stations of the country for distinguished service.

Important components of national security will be discussed at this conference. This includes issues like terrorism, left-wing extremism, coastal defense, new criminal laws and drugs.

This conference will discuss examining the performance of the states on law and order issues, and finding ways to deal with the challenges faced by security and law enforcement agencies in the country. Issues like internal security, left-wing extremism, terrorism and anti-terrorism, cybercrime and challenges coming from AI will be discussed during the conference.

PM Modi has encouraged the organization of conferences across the country since becoming PM in 2014. This conference has so far been held in Guwahati (Assam), Rann of Kutch (Gujarat), Hyderabad (Telangana), Tekanpur (Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh), Statue of Unity (Kevadia, Gujarat), Pune (Maharashtra), Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), New Delhi and Jaipur (Rajasthan). This time it is being held in Odisha.

Pannu, founder of the banned Sikh for Justice (SFJ) organization, had released a threatening video a few days ago. In which he had asked Naxalites, Maoists, and Kashmiri terrorists to disturb the DG-IGP Conference-2024. Due to this, more than 70 platoons of police force have been deployed for the 59th DG-IGP Conference 2024.
