Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to enhance the BJP’s campaign efforts in Maharashtra with a series of rallies scheduled from November 8 to 14, ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections on November 20.
According to BJP officials, Modi is expected to conduct 11 rallies during this period. Maharshtra BJP Chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule announced that Modi’s itinerary includes election meetings in Dhule and Nashik on November 8, Akola and Nanded on November 9, followed by rallies in Chandrapur, Chimur, Solapur, and Pune on November 12, and concluding in Sambhajinagar, Navi Mumbai, and Mumbai on November 14.
Additionally, Home Minister Amit Shah plans to address around 20 rallies, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is expected to hold about 22, and Union Health Minister and BJP Chief JP Nadda will have around 13 rallies.
Maharashtra’s own Union Road, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari is scheduled to address approximately 50 rallies, while Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is set to conduct around 55. Bawankule and other leaders, including Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, will also actively participate in campaigning.
BJP leaders noted that the campaign will emphasize the welfare initiatives of the MahaYuti government, showcasing achievements like the Ladli Behna Yojana, an electricity waiver for 44 lakh farmers, and other public-benefitting projects. They aim to demonstrate the alliance’s commitment to Maharashtra’s progress and promote the concept of a “double-engine government.”
Both the ruling MahaYuti alliance, which includes the BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction), and the Ajit Pawar-led NCP, and the opposing Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA)—comprising the Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), and Congress—are ramping up their strategies for the 288-member Maharashtra Assembly elections.
