PM Modi two-day visit to Srinagar: Security heightened, 7000 people to perform Yoga with PM Modi tomorrow

Srinagar: Ahead of International Yoga Day celebrations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is arriving on a 2-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. This is his first visit to Kashmir after becoming the Prime Minister for the third time.

The Election Commission is preparing to conduct assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir in September. In such a situation, PM Modi’s visit here and participation in international events like Yoga Day is being considered a positive message.

PM Modi on two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir

The PM will participate in the ‘Empowering Youth, Transforming Jammu and Kashmir’ event at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Conference Center (SKICC) in Srinagar at around 6 pm on June 20. He will also lay the foundation stone of 84 projects worth 1500 crores.

On Yoga Day on June 21, from 6.30 am, he will do yoga asanas on the banks of Dal Lake in the backyard of SKICC under the Common Yoga Protocol. During this, about 7 thousand people will do yoga with him. Some people have been trained in various asanas.

International Yoga Day

10 years ago in 2014, the United Nations declared 21 June as International Yoga Day. Since then it is being celebrated on different themes. The theme of Yoga Day for 2024 has been kept as Yoga for Self and Society.

No flying Zone in Srinagar

Since Prime Minister Modi took oath, that is, on June 9, till now, there have been 4 terrorist incidents in Kashmir. The Reasi Terror attack which took place on June 9 claimed lives of 10 people. In view of the terror attacks, Therefore, strict security arrangements have been made in Srinagar.

Srinagar has been declared a red zone. According to the police, under Rule 24 (2) of the Drone Rules, 2021, Srinagar has been declared a temporary red zone for drones and quadcopters with immediate effect. A case can be registered for flying a drone in this zone.
