New Delhi: BJP MP Sambit Patra praised the Indian Armed Forces for their successful Operation Sindoor, reaffirming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised to respond to the deaths of 26 people in Pahalgam with a powerful retaliation. He told reporters at the BJP headquarters that from April 22 to May 7, there was a widespread demand for immediate action within India.

Patra stated that Modi had gone beyond expectations, promising to take such revenge that the enemy could not anticipate. The military fulfilled that promise, executing strikes that left terror sites in ruins, despite past surgical operations that kept Pakistan guessing. He emphasized that Modi had assured the nation that India would “mitti mein milayenge” (bury them in the ground) and “ghus ke maarenge” (strike hard), and that the armed forces carried out these threats flawlessly.

He further lauded the resilience and bravery of India’s military, saying they demonstrated indomitable courage. Patra highlighted that the entire country is now aware of Operation Sindoor, noting that all three Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) briefings presented the facts clearly to the nation.

The operation on May 7 successfully targeted and dismantled nine major terror camps linked to JeM, LeT, and Hizbul Mujahideen across Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir (PoK). Five of these camps were in PoK, while four were in Pakistan. Notably, camps in Muridke and Bhawalpur stand out as key hubs for commanders, radicalization, and training in arms and intelligence. Among those eliminated was Rauf Azhar, brother-in-law of Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Maulana Masood Azhar, who is wanted for involvement in the IC-814 hijacking conspiracy.
