Possibility of rain in 27 states including Delhi-Rajasthan: Temperature dropped by 3 to 4 degrees in UP-Chhattisgarh

New Delhi : The effect of heatwave has started reducing in many states of the country. The temperature has started coming down due to pre-monsoon rain. The Meteorological Department (IMD) said that on Saturday (June 1), the day temperature was 45 degrees or above in only 8 cities.

Temperature has dropped by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius in Rajasthan, Haryana, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh. The weather suddenly changed in Delhi yesterday afternoon. After bright sunshine since morning, clouds covered the sky and dust storms blew.

There is a possibility of rain with thunder and lightning today i.e. Sunday (June 2) in 27 states of the country including Delhi. During this, strong winds or dust storms will also blow at a speed of 40-50 km per hour. There is an alert of heavy rain in the southern states. Monsoon has started in Kerala from June 30.

Alert in these states- Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Karnataka, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

According to IMD, on Saturday (June 1), only three cities recorded a temperature of 46 degrees, which was the highest compared to other cities. Among these, Jhansi in UP recorded the highest temperature of 46.9 degrees, Sriganganagar in Rajasthan recorded 46.2 degrees and Satna in MP recorded 46.1 degrees. Raipur, Amritsar, Daltonganj, Nagpur, Rohtak and Una recorded temperatures between 44 and 45 degrees.

According to today’s forecast, heatwave is likely in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and parts of Odisha. Goa is likely to remain hot and humid.

Monsoon reached West Bengal 6 days before the scheduled time
The monsoon has reached northern West Bengal six days before the scheduled time. The IMD had predicted that it would enter the state by June 6. The reason for the early arrival of the monsoon is said to be the Remal cyclone, which hit West Bengal and Bangladesh on May 26.

Before West Bengal, the monsoon reached Kerala on May 30. The IMD had predicted that it would reach Kerala by May 31. It is expected to arrive in Delhi by June 27.

Earlier, on May 30, 2017, the monsoon arrived early due to Cyclone Mora. In 2023, the monsoon entered Kerala on June 8 after a delay of seven days. Usually the monsoon enters Kerala on June 1 and covers most parts of the country by June 5.
