New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta visited the Ring Road at Samaypur to review ongoing road construction and inaugurate a project costing Rs 12.5 crore.

During her inspection late Monday night at 12 a.m., she instructed officials to ensure that roads are free of potholes for the residents of Delhi. She also performed a ceremonial coconut-breaking to mark the project’s inauguration.

CM Rekha Gupta stated, “Our main objective is to make the entire Ring Road pothole-free before the onset of the monsoon season, ensuring safer and better roads for the people of Delhi. This section of the road is being repaired for Rs 12.5 crore. Congratulations and best wishes to the citizens of Delhi for acquiring a pothole-free area.”

She urged officials to maintain quality standards and adhere to project deadlines for efficient and timely completion of the work.

In addition, CM Rekha Gupta is set to present a report from the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India in the upcoming Assembly session on Tuesday. The report will highlight the previous AAP government’s shortcomings in tackling the city’s severe air pollution.

It will focus on a performance audit titled “Prevention and Mitigation of Vehicular Air Pollution in Delhi,” analyzing the effectiveness of measures implemented by the Arvind Kejriwal-led administration up to March 31, 2021.

This will mark the third CAG report submitted by the BJP government in the Assembly since taking office. Previous reports discussed financial mismanagement at the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and in the health sector.

The Assembly recently reviewed a CAG report on DTC’s financial concerns, sending it to the Committee on Government Undertakings for further investigation, with a report anticipated within three months.
