Chandigarh : After meeting farmer Preetpal Singh at PGI Hospital in Chandigarh, Amrita Warring, wife of Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, said to PTI, “He has injuries all over his body. Today, he will have a leg surgery. He is not able to speak or eat anything, and his fault was only that he went to give some food to his uncle, who was sitting in protest. I want to ask the government what was his fault?”
Preetpal Singh, who was seriously injured on the Punjab-Haryana border and was admitted to PGI Rohtak, has been shifted to PGI Chandigarh.
Giving this information, Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh said that on the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Chief Secretary had written a letter to the Chief Secretary of Haryana regarding handing over Preetpal Singh to Punjab for treatment. After the intervention of CM Mann, Preetpal Singh has been shifted to PGI Chandigarh.
Dr. Balbir said that our team is already present at PGI Chandigarh, where Preetpal Singh will receive proper medical care and all necessary support will be provided to his family. He said that the BJP government is killing democracy on the Haryana border and making fun of the country’s constitution and law and order.
Dr. Balbir said that the agitating farmers have full support of the Aam Aadmi Party and the Punjab government led by Bhagwant Mann. Farmers from many states including Punjab, Haryana want to protest peacefully in Delhi.
He also added, ‘The Central and Haryana governments should allow them to do this.’ He strongly criticized the BJP, the Central and Haryana governments for violent action against farmers. He said that farmers have the constitutional right to protest. Using barbed wire and torturing farmers is absolutely unconstitutional and undemocratic. The central government should stop torturing our farmers and soon accept all their demands.

The state government is very serious about the farmers injured during the action taken by Haryana Police against farmers in Shambhu and Khanauri. Now Punjab Chief Secretary Anurag Verma has sent a letter to his Haryana counterpart asking for details of the farmers undergoing treatment in Rohtak.
