New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Namibia on Wednesday, completing the final stage of his five-country tour. During his visit, he will hold bilateral discussions with President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.
This marks Modi’s first visit to Namibia and only the third time an Indian Prime Minister has visited the country. The visit is at the invitation of President Nandi-Ndaitwah, as announced by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in a press release from New Delhi, ahead of Modi’s visits to Ghana, Trinidad & Tobago, Argentina, and Brazil.
While in Namibia, Modi is scheduled to meet with President Nandi-Ndaitwah for bilateral talks. He will also pay tribute to Namibia’s founding father and first President, the late Dr. Sam Nujoma, and is expected to address the Namibian Parliament.
This visit underscores the strong and historically deep-rooted relationship between India and Namibia, the MEA stated.
