New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta criticized the previous AAP administration for neglecting the development of mandis in the city, alleging that they have become centers of corruption rather than hubs of growth. She stated that her government is formulating a plan to modernize these markets.

After inspecting Azadpur Mandi in North Delhi, Gupta told reporters that the condition of Delhi’s mandis is dire, with no significant development efforts in the past 10-15 years. She was accompanied by Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra. She highlighted issues related to cleanliness, infrastructure, and security at the mandis, accusing the previous government of turning them into corruption hubs.

Gupta assured that her government aims to upgrade the system and enhance security during the modernization process.

In response to questions about calls to boycott Turkey and Azerbaijan by Indian tourists and businesspeople, she emphasized that if any country acts against India, the Indian people will oppose it in every way. She reaffirmed India’s stance against terrorism and external support to hostile elements.

Meanwhile, BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal announced that traders from across India are considering ending their business ties with Turkey and Azerbaijan because of their support to Pakistan during recent conflicts involving Operation Sindoor. He said traders from 24 states are convening in Delhi to decide whether to sever economic relations with these countries, asserting that Indian traders stand firmly with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will avoid doing business with nations supporting anti-India actions.
