New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi sharply criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi during a rally in Rohini, labeling it an “AAPda government” that lacks a clear vision for the city’s advancement.

Ahead of the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, Modi stated that significant developmental projects in the capital have been primarily initiated by the BJP-led central government. As the crowd chanted slogans like “Delhi needs change, not excuses; it wants a BJP government,” the Prime Minister received an enthusiastic response.

He emphasized the importance of the next 25 years for both India and Delhi, asserting, “The coming 25 years are crucial for India’s journey to becoming a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (developed nation). For this to happen, Delhi must progress alongside.”

Modi urged Delhi’s residents to give the BJP a chance to lead the city towards a brighter future, claiming that only the BJP can deliver genuine development. He described the past decade under the AAP as an “AAPda” (disaster), noting that the people are calling for change, saying, “We won’t tolerate disaster; we will bring change.”

Highlighting the BJP’s governance success, Modi cited achievements in states like Odisha, Maharashtra, and the Northeast, as well as at the national level. He encouraged BJP workers to engage with the community and demonstrate the party’s commitment to development, calling this election a “golden opportunity to win the hearts of Delhi.”

He reiterated his vision of transforming Delhi into one of the world’s leading cities with top-notch facilities. “Last year, the Centre allocated over Rs 75,000 crore for health and development projects in Delhi. We aspire to make Delhi a capital that showcases India’s heritage and pride,” he stated.

Modi pointed out that the expansion of Delhi’s metro system, including the Namo Bharat Train and the Janakpuri-Krishna Park stretch, are initiatives driven by the Centre. He mentioned the PM Awas Yojana, highlighting the Swabhimaan Apartment in Ashok Nagar as a “Modi ki guarantee” for affordable housing.

He also listed major projects like Bharat Mandapam, Yashobhoomi, Kartavya Path, and the National War Memorial as symbols of pride in Delhi, attributing their success to the Centre’s efforts.

The Prime Minister criticized the AAP government for mismanagement in crucial areas such as sanitation, public transport, and law enforcement, stating, “Delhi suffers whenever these people are in power,” and citing issues like unclean neighborhoods and safety concerns.

He addressed the controversy surrounding the Delhi Chief Minister’s residence, dubbed “Sheesh Mahal” by the BJP, accusing the AAP of prioritizing luxury over public welfare. “While people were struggling during the COVID-19 crisis, they focused on building their ‘Sheesh Mahal,’ showing their disregard for Delhi’s citizens,” he remarked.

Modi also accused the AAP of failing to implement central welfare schemes like Ayushman Bharat for political gain, depriving residents of essential benefits. “Intention, decision, loyalty, and policy are crucial in politics. However, there are significant questions about their intentions and loyalty,” he added, noting that several top AAP leaders face accusations of scams.

The rally was attended by prominent BJP figures, including Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva and MPs Manoj Tiwari, Bansuri Swaraj, Kamaljeet Sehrawat, and Ramesh Bidhuri. Outside the venue, replicas of the Delhi Chief Minister’s residence labeled “Sheesh Mahal” were displayed, underscoring the BJP’s criticism of the AAP government.
