Pune: A helicopter crashed in Pune’s Paud village area on Saturday. This helicopter was going from Mumbai to Vijayawada. The pilot and three passengers were on board. Fortunately, no loss of life has been reported in the accident. The pilot has been injured in the accident and has been admitted to the hospital. The other three people have not suffered serious injuries.
Pune Rural Police Superintendent Pankaj Deshmukh said that this helicopter belonged to Mumbai’s Global Vectra Helicopter Company. It is suspected that the helicopter crashed due to a technical fault. Heavy rain is also being considered as the reason behind the accident.
The name of the helicopter is AW 139. The name of the pilot who got injured in this accident is Captain Anand. The other three occupants of the helicopter have been identified as Dheer Bhatia, Amardeep Singh and SP Ram.
Earlier this month on August 7, a helicopter crashed in Nepal in the mountains just northwest of capital Kathmandu. In the mishap, 5 people were killed. The bodies of four men and a woman were pulled from the wreckage, Krishna Prasad Humagai, the government administrator of Nuwakot district told.
